Our commitment
Riviera on the Bay is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continuously work to improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards where feasible for a small personal property website.
Measures taken
This website includes the following accessibility features:
- Skip to content link: A "Skip to main content" link appears at the top of every page for keyboard users
- Semantic HTML: Proper heading hierarchy (h1, h2, h3), landmark regions (nav, main, footer), and semantic elements throughout
- Alt text: All meaningful images include descriptive alt text for screen readers
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements (links, buttons, navigation) are accessible via keyboard
- ARIA labels: Icon-only buttons include aria-label attributes describing their purpose
- Color contrast: Text and background color combinations meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast requirements
- Responsive design: The site is fully functional on mobile devices, tablets, and desktops
- Language declaration: The page language is declared in the HTML for screen reader compatibility
- Focus indicators: Visible focus states are present for keyboard navigation
- No auto-playing media: No videos, audio, or animations start automatically
Known limitations
We are aware of the following areas where accessibility could be improved:
- The photo gallery lightbox on the Gallery page may not be fully optimized for screen reader navigation. We are working to improve this.
- The embedded Google Map on the Location page is provided by Google and may have accessibility limitations outside our control. The full address is also provided in text.
Physical property accessibility
The property at Bayside Walk, Mission Beach has the following physical characteristics guests should be aware of:
- The home spans three levels connected by interior staircases
- There is no elevator or lift between floors
- The main entrance requires navigating steps from the driveway
- The bay access gate requires stepping over a threshold onto a pebbled path
- The lower deck and hot tub area are accessible from the lower floor without stairs
Guests with specific mobility requirements are encouraged to contact us before booking so we can provide full details and help determine if the property is suitable for their needs.
